Blogsy and my creative life… pictures from Farmington

(download)

So I'm really going to make a concerted effort, call it a mid-year resolution, to make my Blog posts. I'm going to start here at AZBay.net for family news and I'll find another place for my personal posts. I'll stick with my hosted Wordpress.com blog most likely, the only thing that I'm irritated about is the fact that I let the domain that I registered for that specific site lapse, so it's going to cost me in the neighborhood of 150 bucks to get it back. It's not a domain anyone else in the world would use, but by god, the domain gods are going to punish me for not renewing it.

So be it. Whatever. The main reason I want to get back to Blog posting is to improve my writing and also to post pictures and whatnot that I definitely should be doing now.

We just got back from Farmington for Easter, it was a really nice trip. I wish I would have had more time so I could have seen my cousins, but such is life sometimes. Maybe we'll have the ability to get back up to Farmington this summer and do some camping, go to the lake, see the Kannards, etc.

This is all I have for now, which is sad… but hey, I just got Blogsy and I fully expect this new iPad and ZaggFolio to get my creative side moving. I've done a LOT of writing since I picked this sucker up, just random stories here and there, and I've been doing my daily journal entries, so now I just need to update my Blogs and I'll have accomplished most of my goals. The other goals being to compose some music again and to work on some drawings/sketching on my iPad with my handy-dandy Bamboo stylus, you can really draw/paint very easily there… I will showcase some of these drawings and music as I finalize it. It's really amazing how you can do some really fun art with the tools here, including stop motion animation, and just some really nice painting. It's never going to be the same as a sketch book and my pencil/charcoal set but it's fun and neat the drawings you can do.

Welcome to AZBay's latest iteration.

Once again I've moved AZBay.net, again having a lot to do with the amount of time that I have to spend updating the site, and the fact that technology changes so much every couple years that it makes almost no sense to try to host my own site at all anymore. Why put any time into the actual creation of the site when I can now use a host like Posterous and spend all my time on the actual content, not the HTML or whatever.

I still have backups for all my previous blog posts which are more for me than anyone else. But I still need a spot to keep news and family pictures for others to see.

Posterous is great. I can password protect areas if so desired, I can post pictures, text, and video almost instantly from my phone, iPad or Mac, as well as connecting easily to my other social outlets like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, etc. as can Jen and soon even Sean (who is completely fascinated with his disconnected iPhone 3G, he takes about 1 great picture out of 10 but hey, he's only 3).

So this site will definitely be updated a LOT. You won't have to look for a gallery, the photos/videos/text or audio will post directly on the stream. So if you use Posterous, subscribe, if you're a Facebook friend of me (and soon Jen) or a Twitter follower of me you'll get updates of new posts from here and will be able to view the content in those streams or you can check out http://azbay.net to get here as well!

Cheers and Riley stuff to come very soon!
